Neuroscience and the Law

What is NeuroLaw?

Neuroscience and the law are inextricably linked: The purpose of law is to regulate people’s behaviour, behaviour is controlled by our brains, and neuroscience is the study of the brain.

The way the brain works, therefore, is of great importance to the lawmakers who write the laws, legal professionals who apply the laws, forensic scientists who analyse evidence used by lawyers, police officers and criminal investigators that enforce the law, and social workers whose clientele have or are at risk of breaking the law.
