Continuing Education

The Michigan State University Neuroscience Program offers online continuing education (CE) courses designed for professionals working at the intersection of neuroscience and criminal justice—including law enforcement, criminal investigators, forensic specialists, social workers, attorneys, and judges.

Our courses are approved for CE credits through MCBAP and ASWB, making them a practical option for professionals meeting licensure or certification requirements. All courses are delivered in an asynchronous online format, so you can complete coursework on your own schedule without disrupting your professional commitments.

Courses are available individually or as a collection. Participants who complete a full collection will also earn a micro-credential certificate from the MSU Neuroscience Program.

Visit our Eventbrite site to see a full list of courses, collections, and registration information.

If you have any questions about MSU Neurolaw micro-credentials, please contact Kathryn Irish, Director of the MSU Microcredential Program.

Course delivery

Courses are delivered online, in an asynchronous format via pre-recorded lectures followed by a brief quiz. In order to achieve CE credit, you must pass the quiz with at least 70%.

Certificates for Individual Courses:

Certificates are provided to students upon successful completion of the quiz (minimum score of 70%). You may retake the quiz if you do not pass the first time. Your certificate of completion will automatically populate upon successful completion of the quiz. You may save or print your certificate at this point.

Microcredential Certificate:

Once all courses in the microcredential series have been successfully completed, you may request your microcredential badge. Please allow up to 5 business days to complete your request. Your electronic badge will be emailed to you at the address you provide.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Courses may be taken at your convenience at any point within the course offering period described on eventbrite, which typically runs in 3 month batches. At the end of each batch the courses will renew. If you do not take the course within the time span available, please reach out to the Director of the Microcredential Program, Kathryn Irish, at irishkat@msu.edu who can facilitate an extension of your purchased ticket. Limitations may apply. Refunds and/or cancellations must be requested within the same course offering period in which the original course was purchased.
